Iredell County Jail Mugshots Overview
The official Iredell County inmate inquiry is the CentralSquare P2C system linked by the county and Sheriff's Office. It is the first place to check current county custody, but the P2C grid inspected on June 23, 2026 did not display mugshots in the captured visible fields or the live JSON result fields. The public row data included book ID, name, age, DOB in raw endpoint data, sex, race, primary charge, arrest date, booking agency, and agency code. It did not confirm a public booking-photo field.
No official Iredell County mugshot gallery, recent-booking photo gallery, or routine booking-photo feed was located in the research. The P2C Daily Bulletin can provide public safety event and arrest context, and the Sheriff's Most Wanted PDF is a wanted-person list, but neither should be described as a jail mugshot gallery. If a booking photo is needed and the roster detail view does not show one, the records path runs through the Iredell County Sheriff's Records Division.

Start with the official systems, then move to a records request if the photo is not displayed. - If no photo appears, record the person's full name, arrest date, book ID if known, booking agency, and primary charge from P2C.
- Check the P2C Daily Bulletin only for arrest or event context, not as a confirmed mugshot gallery.
- Request the specific booking photo or arrest-related record from the Sheriff's Records Division, naming the person and date precisely.

Use that Records Division route for incident reports, arrest documentation, and booking-photo requests that are not satisfied by the online roster.
Sample Record and Photo Field Inventory
The captured sample record inventory is important because it separates confirmed fields from assumed fields. The Iredell P2C grid had a row-select detail postback and generic image elements in the page source, but static inspection did not confirm a mugshot in the public grid or JSON. That means the page should be read as a custody and booking-index tool unless a live row detail confirms more.

Are Iredell County Jail Mugshots Public Record?
North Carolina does not create a simple rule that every jail mugshot must be posted online. N.C. G.S. 132-1 defines public records broadly, including photographs and electronic records made or received in connection with public business. But N.C. G.S. 132-1.4 says records of criminal investigations are generally not public records, and its definition of investigation records includes photographs and measurements compiled to prevent or solve violations of law.
At the same time, G.S. 132-1.4(c) makes certain arrest information public unless another law prohibits release. Public arrest information can include the time, date, location, and nature of the violation; the name, sex, age, address, employment, and alleged violation of a person arrested, charged, or indicted; and the circumstances surrounding the arrest. A booking photo request may therefore require the custodian to decide whether the specific photo is releasable, withheld as an investigation record, or subject to another limit.

How Long a Mugshot Stays on the Roster
No official Iredell County page was located that publishes a mugshot retention window, a photo-removal schedule, or a promise that booking photos remain online after release. The P2C roster should be treated as a current inmate inquiry unless a result itself indicates otherwise. The research also did not locate a historical Iredell booking-photo archive for released people.

How to Request an Iredell County Booking Photo
For a booking photo that is not displayed on P2C, start with the Iredell County Sheriff's Records Division rather than a third-party site. The records page says the division processes, distributes, and stores documentation of incidents and arrests. Incident reports may be obtained in person at the Sheriff's Main Administrative Office, and copies of incident reports are not charged. Fingerprinting has a separate $10 fee, but the research did not locate a specific booking-photo copy fee or turnaround time.
Use a narrow request. Include the person's full legal name, arrest date, book ID if known, booking agency, and the type of record requested, such as "booking photograph related to the arrest on [date]." Mugshot Removal, Dismissals, and Expunctions
No Iredell County page was located that promises automatic removal of a booking photo after dismissal, acquittal, expunction, or release. North Carolina expunction law may clear qualifying court and agency records, but an expunction does not automatically erase copies already captured elsewhere. The records-clearing route begins with the court order and the originating agency or court record custodian.
If a case was expunged, use the expunction order when contacting the Sheriff's Records Division, the clerk, or any agency that created or maintains the record. Federal, State, and Most Wanted Photos Are Different
Federal and state lookup systems do not replace Iredell County jail mugshots. The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator shows fields such as name, register number, age, race, sex, release date, and location. It is not a mugshot database. ICE ODLS is an immigration custody locator, not a booking-photo gallery. The Sheriff's Most Wanted PDF can include wanted-person context and charge snippets, and the Sheriff's mobile app advertises a current Wanted Persons list, Submit a Tip, sex-offender map, and push notifications. Those tools are useful for warrant and public-safety context, but they are not a routine jail booking-photo archive. A person arrested on a warrant may later appear in P2C after booking, but the photo question still depends on the official roster detail view or a Records Division request.
